Ministry of Labour Announces 3-Day Eid Al-Fitr Holiday for Private Sector Workers

Qatar’s Ministry of Labour has announced the Eid Al-Fitr holiday schedule for private sector employees across the country, confirming that workers in private establishments will receive a three-day paid holiday to mark the occasion.

In a statement, the ministry said the holiday will begin on the first day of Eid Al-Fitr and will continue for three consecutive days for employees working in the private sector. The break applies to all private companies and institutions operating in Qatar.

The ministry also noted that if operational requirements require employees to work during the holiday period, employers must comply with the provisions outlined in Qatar’s Labour Law.

In such cases, the regulations governing overtime hours and related allowances, as stated in Article 74 of the Labour Law, will apply.

The announcement comes as part of preparations for the Eid Al-Fitr celebrations, one of the most important religious occasions observed by Muslims worldwide, marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan.

The holiday provides private sector workers with time to celebrate the festival with family and community.
