Holiday Schedule for Government Institutions

According to the statement released by the Amiri Diwan, the Eid holiday will apply to ministries, government agencies, and public authorities across the country.

During this period, government employees will be granted a week-long break to celebrate the occasion with their families before returning to work once the holiday period ends.

Meanwhile, the holiday schedule for the financial sector will be determined separately.

The start and end dates for Qatar Central Bank, banks operating under its supervision, financial institutions, and entities regulated by the Qatar Financial Markets Authority and financial markets will be announced by the Governor of Qatar Central Bank.

Eid Al-Fitr: A Major Religious Celebration

Eid Al-Fitr marks the conclusion of Ramadan, the Islamic month of fasting. The holiday is typically celebrated with special Eid prayers, family gatherings, charitable activities, and festive meals shared with relatives and friends.

Public holidays in Qatar are often aligned with the Islamic lunar calendar, meaning the exact dates may vary slightly depending on the sighting of the crescent moon that signals the start of the month of Shawwal and the beginning of Eid.

The announcement of the official holiday allows government employees and public sector workers to plan their celebrations and travel during the festive period.
