Welcome back to Unfiltered Truths. The high-speed thrill of the Isle of Man TT was overshadowed by a frightening crash during Friday’s qualifying session.
British rider Tom Weeden, aboard bike number 33, suffered a major accident at Glen Helen during the Super Twin practice round on May 30th, 2025.

Emergency services acted quickly after the collision. Given the severity of Weeden’s injuries, the choice to fly him to Nobles Hospital probably made all the difference.

Doctors have so far confirmed the following:
Tom suffered a serious fracture to his right ankle, a fracture to his left tibia and fibula, and a fracture to his T12 vertebrae.
It is one of the most serious events of this year’s TT, with additional injuries including several fractures to his hand and finger.

In spite of this, Tom Weeden bravely posted on social media, saying, “Happy to be alive and able to tell the tale,” in typical racer fashion.
Support for his message has been overwhelming from motorsport groups worldwide, as well as from fans and riders.
