On May 29th, 2025, the engine of a bright and adventurous life came to a sudden stop. Tyson “Bug” Woodland, just 18 years old, took his final ride, leaving behind a legacy of laughter, love, and horsepower.
Born in Gainesville, Florida, on November 16th, 2006, Tyson wasn’t just your average kid. From the time he could hold a wrench, he was under the hood of something. If it had a motor, Bug could fix it—and if it didn’t, he’d probably try anyway.
His infectious smile and his enormous heart, however, were what really made him stand out. Tyson made future buddies instead of strangers.
Tyson was a proud 2025 graduate of Union County High School. Throughout graduation, he continued to pursue his love of mechanics, played ball, and represented FFA. He was the person who everyone liked, the one who made every moment matter, and the one who made you laugh till your ribs hurt.
Remembering Tyson Woodland
If Bug wasn’t in the garage, he was most likely hunting in the woods, mudding with his group, or riding his four-wheeler. Of course, there would also be a bottle of Dr. Pepper, a jar of pickles, and tomatoes nearby, because why not?
Love filled Tyson’s life. In addition to being a son, he was also a brother, a grandchild, and a greatest friend to many, particularly his cherished dog, Bella.
His parents, Kendall and Kelly; sisters, Harley and Avery; grandparents; Mema; numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins; and a large network of friends who became family are all living.
Sardis Baptist Church will host Tyson’s life celebration on June 8. LZ Chapel Cemetery will be the last resting place for him.
However, Bug’s spirit isn’t leaving. He will live on in every story we tell, laugh in every garage, and ride shotgun in every truck.
Tyson “Bug” Woodland didn’t need decades to make an impact. In just 18 short years, he revved up every heart he touched. And though he’s gone far too soon, his joy, kindness, and fire will never fade.
