Today we mourn the loss of a shining soul in the world of country rock. Casey Wilson, a beloved member of the band The Barnflies, has tragically passed away after a terrible accident this morning.

It was love to know Casey. He made an impression on everyone he met with his contagious smile, memorable voice, and renowned hugs.

“To know him was to love him,” one buddy wrote. Casey’s voice, laugh, and grin will never be forgotten. He was a spouse, parent, and role model. We shall really miss you. Rest in peace.

After growing up in South Dakota and attending Plankington Elementary, Secondary, and High School, Casey went on to Blackhill State University to study social science and secondary education.

In addition to a network of friends, admirers, and relatives who are devastated but thankful for the time they had with him, he is survived by his devoted wife Carlen Wild.

Casey’s voice, as a member of The Barnflies, resonated not only through the speakers but also into the hearts of all those present. He inspired, encouraged, and connected with people in addition to performing.
Casey Wilson, you were more than a voice. You were a friend, a husband, a beacon of joy—and now, a memory we’ll carry with us forever.
