Phil Robertson, best known for featuring on the popular reality television show “Duck Dynasty,” has died, his family announced Sunday. He was 79.
On social media, Phil’s son Jase shared the news of his father’s death: “My dad has gone to be with the Lord today! We know he is in wonderful hands, and our family is good because God is extremely good, but we will miss him! We’ll see him again! #Jesus #PhilRobertson
The Robertson family previously announced in a December podcast that the star was diagnosed with Alzheimer’s disease. At the time, the family said he was not doing well and they were doing what they could to make him comfortable.
In another social media post signed by the Robertson Family on Sunday, they thanked the fans for their love and prayers. They stated they’re having a private service for now but will share details in the future about a public celebration of his life.
